NSW Trains had no digital service arrival information on their regional network. Commuters at rural and regional stations were relying on static signage and manual announcements. NSW Transport needed a pilot solution that could handle real-time data feeds, work outdoors in all conditions, and cover a wide range of passenger needs from a single kiosk.
Envent worked across NSW Transport, NSW Trainlink, and TfNSW to design and deploy modular outdoor kiosks for the regional rail network. The final solution integrated live train arrival data, facility wayfinding, network maps, journey planning, weather, designated contacts, commuter surveys, SMS content, and multilingual options into a single platform.
Hardware was built for outdoor permanence: single and dual-sided 43" electronic information boards in modular enclosures with integrated air conditioning. Software ran on Envention's wayfinder and advertising platform.
This was Envent's first deployment with a government transport authority, and the first time Envent integrated live transit data into a wayfinding system.
